Can I build my foundation in the winter? Will the price be the same?Foundations can certainly be built in the winter, however, because certain measures need to be met, we will assess each project on a case-by-case basis. One of the advantages of building in the winter may be faster permit processing. This said, excavation and concrete pouring can be a challenge if the weather conditions are too cold. Winter and Seasonal arrangements such as ripping of frozen ground, accelerators, tarping, or heating, can help in the process. Pricing is dependent on what arrangements are necessary for your project. Winter and Seasonal options and approximate pricing can be provided to our clients upon request.

Do you provide free quotes?Marshall Construction provides Free quotes upon request, provided all details are submitted to our Estimating Team. Our estimator's time is invaluable to us and to ensure we use everyone’s time wisely we must ensure we have all the information required first before we start pricing of any kind. If there are missing details a member of your team may call you directly to retrieve the information.

What is your turnaround time?Our turnaround time will depend on the time of the year, as well as the size, the complexity of your project, and the location. The more organized and prepared our contractors and clients are the faster we can turn things around. Maximizing your schedule and ours.

Do you work outside of Central Alberta?Our projects span across Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan, catering to the needs of our valued customers. While our operational base is in Central Alberta, we make it a priority to meet our customers wherever they require our services.

How do you insulate your foundations?We for foundations, each with its own benefits. Rigid Styrofoam boards provide a cost-effective solution that eliminates thermal bridging, resulting in an increased total R-value. Another option is Warm-N-Dri, a fiberglass insulation board available in various R-value options, from R 3 to R 10. By improving energy efficiency, you can effectively reduce heating and cooling costs. Choose the insulation that suits your needs and enjoy the benefits of enhanced thermal performance. Depending on the design of your foundation, frost protection may be necessary in accordance with building codes and at the request of the home inspector.

How do you waterproof your foundations?We utilize various spray-applied waterproofing membranes to effectively deter water infiltration and safeguard against wall leaks and internal condensation. During the foundation construction process, we will present you with an array of options to choose from, ensuring you have the best solution tailored to your needs.

Do you build foundations for move-on homes?Yes, we do. All existing built homes require a home site visit to record precise foundation measurements of the home before it’s moved. If your move-on home is a factory build, we will need specifications and measurements from the factory to ensure the accuracy of the foundation.

Do you have equipment to excavate and backfill?Yes, we have various sizes of excavating equipment and hauling vehicles to excavate and backfill your project.

Do you do ICF and conventional foundations?Yes, we are fully certified ICF block installers. We can provide pricing on both Insulated Concrete Foundations and Conventional Foundations.

Do you charge for site visits to quote?Depending on the nature of the request, site visits may incur charges. Alternatively, we can accept a deposit that will be credited towards an invoice.

Do you do site grading?Our comprehensive services encompass pre-grading, an essential step in achieving the desired site grade prior to landscaping and/or final grading. This meticulous approach ensures optimal results and sets the foundation for a successful project.

Do you set the location of the foundation?By utilizing your drawings, site plot plan, and grade certificate in conjunction with the surveyor stakeout, we are able to accurately calculate the required excavation depth, determine the rise and run count for your front steps, and establish the final landscape grade. It is worth noting that very few contractors invest the time and effort to ensure proper placement and elevation. Neglecting this crucial step can lead to significant changes, potential risks, and even affect the overall aesthetic, cost, and moisture management of your project.
